Our Story

It is amazing how two people can grow up in the same small town and have all of the same best friends during high school, and never cross the same paths. It wasn’t until reconnecting with mutual friend in October 2006 that we were “officially” introduced. The night of October 28, 2006 we went to a Halloween party together with all of our friends, and were inseperatable. Although we didn’t do the whole “will you be my girlfriend/boyfriend” thing, we had a silent mutual agreement that started the following day that we were “together.” We have had our share of ups and downs as many of you know, yet due to unconditional love we have conquered all of them and our love seems to continue to be on fire. On May 29, 2009 after a long stroll on the beautiful beach of Carpenteria, Chris had found the perfect rock to sit on where he then told me “I think you should sit down on my lap.” After proceeding to sit down on his lap, he then told me “I think you should kiss me.” Of course I kissed him, not knowing that his next “demand” would be “I think you should marry me” and placed this beautiful diamond ring in front of me. And of course I said yes!!!!

Wanting to get married right away, we took the less impulsive route and waited and chose to have a 16 month engagement. We have made great strides in our planning wedding, and have saved the date of October 16, 2010 to become Mr. and Mrs. Henry. We set out to be different than everyone else, and have decided to get married in a little garden-like location which blows your mind once you walk through the dates. It fits our relationship to a T. From the outside it looks a little “interesting,” where many people will think “what an un-likely match.” Then you enter into “The Orchard” and realize that it is an absolutely beautiful location that makes perfect sense.

Although we don’t want to share to many of our ideas with everyone, as it seems to be wedding season, we do want to let everyone know that both the ceremony and the reception will be held at “The Orchard” On Menifee, CA. We have chose Emilio's to cater our wedding. We plan on having an absolute blast, and are hoping to dance the night away with our family and friends, and want them to have plenty of food in order to produce energy. So as many people don’t associate Mexican food with weddings, we don’t care! We would rather fill our guest up with delicious food so they can make many memories with us out on the dance floor, then be anxious to head out to Del Taco half way through the reception because the chicken was so dry that they only nibbled.

We are trying to make everything as personal as possible, so we have decided to have on of our closest friends, and old roommates, Robert marry us. Who better to marry us that a good friend and a brother in Christ. Our very good friend Ashley Mulin will be blessing us with her talent, and taking all of our pictures. One of my first Alphas ever, when I was new member coordinator in Alpha Delta Pi, and one of my partners in crime while at Cal State San Bernardino, Ashley Baugh (aka Donghead) will be making me beautiful that day by doing my make-up. We have picked our colors, our DJ, our favors, and many of the little details that go into a wedding. At the end of May I will be dress shopping with my bridesmaid. But you can’t go dress shopping without your best friend! So when Johanna comes home on leave, and takes a break from fighting for our freedom, we will go dress shopping and hopefully negotiating with her neighbor my flowers. Less than 6 months to go until we are Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Henry!!
